Chapter 3 - Survive the Twilight; Pray for Dusk

Chapter 3: Survive the Twilight, Pray for Dusk

“Where is it? Who has done this to her?” Taito screamed as he charged down the trail leading away from the waterfall grove to his mansion.

Dawn and Chester Bloem looked up from their gardening, surprised by Taito’s firm tromp across the lawn and restrained scowl aimed at them both. Mrs. Bloem cringed as Taito went straight through her newly planted poesies, but ‘he could do what he wishes,’ she thought.

Chapter 1 - A Mark to Remember

‘Often times in my day, when I look up, I cannot believe that the sky and the clouds are things of reality. It’s Like an oil painting spread above the earth as an elaborate canopy. The clouds that the scholars refer to as, Nimbus’, are breathtaking, especially when there are no storm clouds to be seen, and only white lines the sky. I can look up and try to imagine how high the sky really is, but those clouds put things into new perspective for me. The sky seems to literally bend upwards above the world, and then I can only wonder if perhaps the sky never stops climbing. But like looking into a deep pool, you can only see so far into it.’
-Layella Emerylis,
The third day of September, 1327

Opening - Dusk

“Sometimes when I look up, it doesn’t look like the clouds and the sky are actually real. I mean, they look just like a painting, a really well painted painting, but still. The clouds that the intellectuals call, Nimbus’, are somewhat breathtaking, especially when they’re white. I can look up and when I think I know how high the sky really is, those clouds put things into new perspective for me. The sky seems to literally bend upwards above the clouds, and then I can only wonder if perhaps the sky never stops going up, but like looking into deep water you can only see so far into it.

Settle in! It's going to be a long ride...

So here we go! I'm Josh Jeffers, a writer who has kept his work unread by others for too long now! I decided to blog the drafts of my book here, for all to read that I might find helpful feedback and better understanding of the demographics it reaches.
This is my first piece of extensive work and the start of a long and exciting journey! I've been writing a novel for many+ years now, and I'm sharing it with you now! This book will be posted chapter by chapter, and maybe even divided up more than that as my chapters are rather lengthy. I will try to post new pieces weekly, perhaps more since I have the whole thing already written and typed. But for now just delve right in and please leave comments or email me your impressions or criticisms!
If you would like a summary, do email me and I'll see about posting one. So I thank you for visiting this site and appreciate your taking time to sit and read the story I have to tell you!
Lets get started...
